AOC Agon AG251FZ Review – 240Hz Gaming Monitor with FreeSync

Display and Performance:

For a TN panel, the AOC Agon AG251FZ seems to do better than other monitors as the viewing angles doesn’t show much of color shift expect from a really low angle.

As for color performance, it isn’t as high, but it covers a decent 93% of the sRGB color space (68% AdobeRGB) and has an average Delta E of just 1.03 and that say the monitor can deliver decent colors.

The contrast was excellent at over 900:1, the screen appears too bright while grayscale performance suffers a bit. The only thing that’s slightly off is gamma, which is a little low at 1.84.

This result in, darker colors appearing a little lighter than they would at the correct value of 2.2, but that can be fixed with calibration. The backlighting looks nice, there’s no obvious backlight bleed and the matte finish to the display keeps reflections to a minimum.

As for performance, The AOC Agon AG251FZ features the native 240Hz refresh rate, 1ms G2G response time and support for AMD FreeSync. This monitor clocks in at only 3.6ms of delay at its peak with the Low Input Lag option under Game Settings turned on.

The AOC Agon AG251FZ display has an impressively low response time for its TN panel, which means its pixels can genuinely keep up with its fast refresh rate. It also has a low input lag, which help have a fast performance.

The panel has a narrow bezel, only 12mm at the top and sides. The OSD buttons are on the bottom right edge as well as the power toggle, but it will be rare to use them as the included AOC controller provides complete OSD navigation along with three image mode buttons.
